Desert Flowers
Princess of Wales Conservatory, Kew Gardens, London, 2013/14

Series of 12 colour prints, 50 x 63 cm

These photos were taken in the Princess of Wales Conservatory in Kew Gardens, London. In the artificially arranged desert panoramas that are part of the conservatory grounds, the vision of a “real” representation of nature is created, which is intensified by the selected photographs. ?? Man’s modern relationship to nature is characterized by the separation from it. Nevertheless, man naturally tries to bring it into his urban space. The Princess of Wales Conservatory is an example of the tendency to conserve nature in large cities.
